2008 - 2009

 

Bus Transportation

Those students who submitted a Bus Application in the spring should be receiving notification from the City of Lowell Transportation Office prior to school beginning. If you completed and returned a Bus Application but do not hear from the Transportation Office, please contact them directly. Bus transportation begins on the first day of school.

 

First Week of School

Grades 1-8:

School Begins on Tuesday, August 26 at 8:20 AM

Dismissal will be at 12:00 Noon

 

Wednesday, August 27, 8:20 AM

Dismissal at 12:00 Noon

 

Thursday, August 28, 8:20 AM

Dismissal at 12:00 Noon

 

**Please park and pick students up in the school yard.**

 

THERE IS NO SCHOOL IN LOWELL – OR AT ST. PATRICK’S - ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 29 AND MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 1 DUE TO THE LABOR DAY HOLIDAY.

 

  • Students in Grades 1-8 must be in full uniform beginning Tuesday, Aug.26

  • All students should bring their school supplies to school on the first day.

  • Students need to bring a snack and drink with them during the first week. There will be no breakfast or lunch program.

  • Family Envelopes (Grades 1-8) will be sent home on Tuesday, August 26. All forms need to be returned by Thursday, August 28.

  • Full Days begin for Grades 1-8 on Tuesday, September 2.

  • Extended Day, Breakfast, Snack and Lunch programs will begin on Tuesday, September 2.

 

Tuition:      The first tuition payment for ALL students in K-1 , K-2 and Grade 8 is due on August 15. Please mail it to school or bring it into the office on that date.  All other families have the option to pay August 15 – May 15 or September 15 – June 1.

  

SPECIAL INFORMATION FOR K-1, K-2 PARENTS/GUARDIANS

WELCOME TO ST. PATRICK SCHOOL K-1, K-2 PROGRAM

 

 

K-1, K-2:            PARENT ORIENTATION : TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 10:00-12:00

 

      • 10:00-11:00      Parents/Guardians of K-1 students

      • 11:00 – 12:00   Parents/Guardians of K-2 students

 

There is no school for K-1, K-2 students on Tuesday, September 2.

 

Students in K-1 and K-2 will have half days (dismissal at noon) on Wednesday, September 3, Thursday, September 4 and Friday, September 5. There will be no bus transportation at dismissal for those who ride the bus. Full Days begin on Monday, September 8.

  

There will be a special orientation meeting for parents/guardians of children in K-1 and K-2 on Tuesday, September 2. It will be held in the K-1 or K-2 classroom. This is a very important meeting and we ask that at least one parent/ guardian or adult family member attend. The children in K-1 and K-2 do not need to be present for this orientation. Please make every effort to come so that we may be able to share with you important information regarding the K-1, K-2 Program and help get the year off to a good start.  Some of the information we will be presenting and discussing will include:

  • Curriculum Goals

  • Communication between Home and School

  • School and Classroom Policies and Regulations

  • New Parent-Student Handbook

  • Ways you can assist your child in transitioning to school

  • Transportation issues – especially concerning afternoon pick-up

  • Permission Slips and forms to be filled out

  • Nutrition Program (Breakfast, Snack, Lunch)

  • Tuition Payment Information

  • Accreditation

You will also have the opportunity to see the classroom, meet the teachers and ask questions. We want this to be a good beginning for your child/ren. Working together will help this happen. We look forward to seeing you at Orientation!

STUDENT SUPPLY LIST FOR 2008 - 2009

 

Students in grades 4-8 will purchase the Required Homework Planner

and Home-School Communicator folder at school at the beginning of the

school year.  The cost is $5. 00 and will collected during the first week

 of school.

 

Students in Grades K-1 through 3 will purchase the Required School-Family Communicator folder at school.  The cost is $1.00 and will be collected

during the first week of school.

 

Students are encouraged to take care of supplies such as folders,

pencil pouches etc. so that they may be used for more than one year.

If a student has supplies from last year that are in good condition (such as

a ruler, protractor, scissors, thesaurus) there is no need to purchase

new ones.  No multi-subject notebooks, mechanical pencils or liquid

white-out are allowed.   No plastic pencil boxes are allowed unless listed

under a specific grade.

 

JUNIOR HIGH (GRADES 6, 7, 8 )

2              Family Size boxes of tissues

            1          Large Bottle of Hand Sanitizer – such as Purell

6          Single subject notebooks (wide ruled)

1          Sturdy folder for each subject

2          Packages of loose-leaf paper (wide ruled)

1          Package of 3x5 index cards

1          Package of ball point pens – blue or black

1          Soft Pencil Pouch

1          Package each of Crayons, markers, colored pencils

1                     1 ˝ in. 3 ring binder

 

Sr. Raymond’s Honors English Classes: 1 VERY Fat notebook and 2 packages

of 3x5 index cards.

 

GRADE 5

1          Large Bottle of Hand Sanitizer – such as Purell

7          Single subject notebooks (college ruled)

7          Sturdy Pocket Folders / 1 for each subject

2          Packages of loose-leaf paper (college ruled) – one for school /home

1          Ruler with both standard and metric measurements

1          Package of 3x5 index cards

1          School scissors (not large)
